About this area
Northridge has no single boundary — and its roofs show it
Why one page cannot describe every Northridge roof
Northridge has no single polygon: the two northern neighbourhood councils stop at Nordhoff, Northridge South runs from Nordhoff to Roscoe, and the Community Plan Area draws its west edge at Tampa rather than Corbin. A roofer who quotes by ZIP alone will miss that. The honest starting point is the street itself — which council area it falls in, whether the house is original post-war stock or a rebuild, and what the roof actually looks like from above and from the attic.
Roof repair, replacement, leak detection and inspection across Northridge, ZIPs 91324 and 91325
The dominant stock is the 1950s–60s ranch core, with a second layer of homes rebuilt after the January 1994 earthquake — whose epicentre was in Reseda, not Northridge. That two-layer history is the most useful lens in the area: two houses on one block can have roofs decades apart in age, so build year and roof generation have to be checked house by house, never assumed for a whole street. Add tile on larger Mediterranean-style homes, low-slope sections on multi-unit buildings and on garage and addition roofs, and the mixed pitched-plus-flat property becomes common here.
